Heute möchte ich euch die beliebteste Segelyacht Today I would like to introduce you to the most popular sailing yacht - the Bavaria 46 Cruiser. Why is it the most popular sailing yacht? One thing I can already tell you - there is no lack of comfort :)
Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH is the largest sports boat shipyard for sailing and motorboats in Germany with its headquarters in Giebelstadt (Bavaria). The company has around 600 employees and has been struggling with economic difficulties since its insolvency in 2018. Today they have a new Investor called Capital Management-Partners GmbH (CMP).
The Bavaria is built in a modern vacuum infusion process.
Overall length 14,27 m Total width 4,35 m Draft Standard cast-iron keel (approx.) 2,10 m Tare weight (approx.) 12,600 kg Ballast (approx.) 3,490 kg Engine D2-50 Engine power 37,5 kW / 51 PS Fuel tank (approx.) 210 l Water tank, standard version (approx.) 360 l Model 2018
The Bavaria 46 Cruiser stands for functionality and luxury. In my opinion, the yacht is less suitable for sportive sailing than for sailing with family and friends.
The Bavaria offers the largest bathing platform in its class. The cockpit is very open and spacious and offers space for up to 8 people. The benches are arranged in an L-shape. When going down, even tall people do not bump their heads, as the companionway offers more than enough space.
At the bottom, the view opens up towards the seats. The area is defined in a U-shape and, together with a bench on the other side, offers space for 8 people.
Instead of the bench, it is also possible to have a kitchen island, which then integrates the bench. The kitchen itself has everything you need. Especially the two refrigerators are great, they can be filled with 160l and 120l including a freezer.
The masters cabin is a dream come true. Almost as big as at home the cabin includes a separate shower and toilet. In addition to this you find lots of space for you belongings. The Bavaria is also available in a 4 cabin version, which reduces the Master cabin by half.
The aft cabins also offer the advantage of a private bathroom and are large enough to provide space for two people.
The deck is very nicely designed. It doesn’t have a lot of different levels, so almost the whole crew can secure a berth on deck. A small shortcoming is that the non-slip floor has not been attached to the bow. Therefore be cautious not to slip!
With a winch on each side you can even sail the bavaria alone, if necessary. You can operate the winches directly from the steering wheel. Of course, it is practical if you have chosen the electric winch. The Bavaria is equipped with a double rudder system, which makes it easy to control and gives it a good track. The advantage is that one rudder is always in the water. It is practically impossible to get out of the rudder.
VPP sailing performance at 16 knots true wind speed; keel 2.10 m.
The Bavaria 46 Cruiser is a very comfortable and luxuriously equipped sailing yacht with room for 8 persons. Perfect for a sailing holiday where the sail is unpacked every now and then :)
